Virtual Cooking Class: Vegetable Enfrijoladas w. Casa Azul
Monday night we hosted the next class in our female chef cooking series for HER Kitchen..
We teamed up with Chef Zina Lapi, owner of Casa Azul to cook a delicious two course meal in the comfort of our own kitchens. It was such a great class.
Chef Zina showed us a plant based recipe using some unique fruits + herbs to the Mexico region. I have never used a chayote which is technically a fruit but is eaten like a vegetable. I love that you can use all parts of the plant, seeds, skin and even flower.
Zina showed us how using different herbs and spices can really make a dish pop, and believe me it did! From the flavor, to the color, to the taste.
I love showcasing the amazing women chefs that we have here locally in the city of Buffalo. It gives us a chance to show the great dishes they are preparing, not just unique and tasty but healthy.
It was a fun night cooking together with everyone in their kitchens. I think this is only the beginning of helping you to fall in love with your kitchen. Our kitchen can be the anchor of our home. A place where we nourish not just our bodies but our hearts and soul.
